"We teach girls to shrink themselves To make themselves smaller We say to girls, "You can have ambition But not too much You should aim to be successful But not too successful Otherwise you will threaten the man." Because I am female I am expected to aspire to marriage I am expected to make my life choices Always keeping in mind that Marriage is the most important Now marriage can be a source of Joy and love and mutual support But why do we teach girls to aspire to marriage And we don't teach boys the same? We raise girls to see each other as competitors Not for jobs or for accomplishments Which I think can be a good thing But for the attention of men We teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings In the way that boys are Feminist: the person who believes in the social Political, and economic equality of the sexes" -Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie |

“It's not my responsibility to be beautiful. I'm not alive for that purpose. My existence is not about how desirable you find me.”
― Warsan Shire A man asked the Prophet (SAW) of who had more haq on a person, the Apostle of Allah (SAW) responded “the mother”, the man said “and after her?”, and the Apostle of Allah (SAW) said “the mother”, the man again asked “and after her?” and the Apostle of Allah (SAW) said “the mother”. It was the fourth time when the man asked “and after her?” when the Greatest of mankind (SAW) said “the father”.
When Prophet Mohammed (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) was travelling on the road with his cousin, Al-Fadl ibn Abbas, a woman stopped him to ask him a question. The woman was very beautiful, and Al-Fadl couldn’t help but stare at her.
Seeing this, Prophet Mohammed reached out his hand and turned his cousin’s face away. He didn’t tell the woman to cover her face. He didn’t tell the woman to change her clothing. He didn’t tell her that appearance was too tempting or indecent. He averted his cousin’s impolite stare. “You educate a man; you educate a man. You educate a woman; you educate a generation.”
